The minimum wage for many workers around the US jumps today and many household employers and employee will be impacted by these new laws.
In Chicago, minimum wage increases to $10.00 per hour.
In Washington DC, minimum wage increases to $10.50 per hour.
In Maryland, minimum wage increases to $8.25 per hour.
In Louisville, KY, minimum wage increases to $7.75 per hour.
All of these increases exceed the federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employee at $7.25 per hour.
