The IRS has released the 2019 W-4. As expected, there are not many changes from the 2018 W-4, but now is a good time to review your withholding status and update your W-4 with your employer - especially if you had a name change, a change to the number of dependents you can claim, or a change to your marital status that you need to update with your employer. In an effort to assist employees in calculating their withholding status, the IRS has updated their withholding calculator for the 2019 tax tables. It is available here:
While using the calculator is not required, both the IRS and tax professionals encourage employees to perform a “checkup,” of their individual withholding status and tax withholdings in light of the tax law changes from 2018.
